Currently the enrolment at Kuraby Special School is 75 students.
Students are aged from 5 to 18 years from Prep through to year 12 inclusive.
All our students have an intellectual disability. Many of our students have a diagnosis of a secondary disability such as autism spectrum disorder, hearing impairment, vision impairment and/or a physical impairment.
Kuraby Special School provides an educational program to support students with a suspected or verified disability. Students who attend Kuraby Special School must have an intellectual impairment as their primary disability. Students may have an additional disability including autism spectrum disorder, physical impairment, hearing or vision impairment.
Parents and carers of children with disabilities who are of compulsory schooling age (five years to school leaving age) should contact the Principal for details of the enrolment process which involves regional office approval. Details of this process will be explained by the principal and the guidance officer.
For children of compulsory school age, enrolment is subject to the process outlined in Education Queensland’s Procedure: Enrolment in State Primary, Secondary and Special Schools which can be located on the Department of Education, Training and Employment website.
