Junior students at Kuraby Special School are usually students from prep to approximately grade 3 inclusive.
Kuraby Special School junior curriculum is focused towards individual student needs and is based upon baseline data, prior learnings and observations. With a focus on developing individual communication skills and behaviours to support learning, student literacy and numeracy data and therapy reports assist planning for students in the junior sector.
Independent living skills, perceptual motor skills, personal and social skills are key priorities addressed across the junior school. Our purpose built junior learning area, sensory room and playground enables students to develop their independence within our well-resourced junior school.
